I really didn't want to give him something tangible, it needed to be something he would remember for the rest of his life - like jumping out of a plane. J and I have been together for nearly eight years and I recall towards the beginning of our relationship he mentioned that skydiving was something he wanted to try. After all, he had been bungee jumping - skydiving is not too much of a leap from that. But apparently I was wrong... Along with growing older came a growing fear of mortality.
When I gave J his birthday present, to say that he was shocked and apprehensive is an understatement. I was happy that I gave him three weeks to get his head wrapped around the idea and thankfully on the day he was suitably excited.
We were lucky to have had perfect weather which made for a fantastic jump and I was very happy when J came over to me once he had landed and said 'Thank you, I'm really glad I did it, it was amazing". That was all I wanted to hear.
Happy Birthday Darling xoxo
P.S. Although this was J's birthday I don't put pictures of him on my blog so you are stuck with more of me!
