It's the little things we miss!

I am finding that there are certain times that make me miss home more than others. Yesterday if I closed my eyes and smelled the air I was transported back to spring mornings in Australia. The sun was out and there was actually heat in it, daffodils were poking their heads out of the ground and the birds were going crazy in the trees.

But it was a couple of days ago when I was walking past a bakery and I smelt bread and spice and all I could think of was hot-cross buns. J and I would consume our body weight in hot-cross buns each Easter which along with the chocolate would begin the preparation of the winter fat-coat for hibernation.

But there are no hot-cross buns in Denmark - I miss them, Easter just isn't the same without them. So I spent a few hours in the kitchen making my buns. The only "problem" is that there are no preservatives in them so J and I had to consume them all in a day!

Happy Easter!

I may have missed my calling!

I think I may have missed my calling as an interior designer! From the outset, I decided that I wanted to furnish our apartment with as much Danish furniture as possible.

A Danish company called Muuto make this great large exposed bulb light. Last week the electrician and I spent five hours making my modern chandelier, taking my design from paper into reality - you can't buy this in a shop.
